Holiday Inn due to open in Male

Voyager Group: Local Expert Posts: 65 Joined: 2-June 08 Member No.: 192295	In September, the Holiday Inn Male will open. This will be the first international chain on the Captial Island. It is about a 10minute dhoni ride from Hulhule the airport. There will be 117 rooms, with a roof top swimming pool, a spa and good dining facilities with a roof top European/Japanese restaurant. There will also be meeting rooms and ballroom for functions ect. Amazing that the destination has finally allowed an international chain on the capital island. Up until now it has always been locally run restaurants. Hulhule Island does have the airport island, which has always been popular due to its locality on the island, and the fact that alcohol is sold to guests and ex-pats living in the Maldives. Will this be the start to come in Male, will more international chains start to appear in Male, just has it has happened with the resort islands.

Voyager Group: Local Expert Posts: 65 Joined: 2-June 08 Member No.: 192295	There are now lots of 'chains' in the Maldives, Hilton, Anantara, Centara, Sheraton...... Holiday Inn is the first in Male the Capital, but not the Maldives.
