I would like to have a list of differences between jacmel and cap haitian, cause I'm going over for 5 days?
You may already be there since this post is a few days old, but I can try to answer that question.
Cap Haitian (usually just called Cap) is Haiti's second largest city. It's on the north shore, about 2 hours drive from Gonaïves and 6 hours from Port-au-Prince. After the 2008 hurricanes flooded Gonaïves with mud and the earthquake in PaP, Cap is the closest thing to a functioning city left in Haiti. Because of this, many Haitians are going there looking for refuge if they have the means to travel.
Jacmel is a small, historic city on the south coast of Haiti. Before the earthquake, it was regarded as the tourist capital for its beaches and architecture. It sustained heavy damage and is one of several areas starting to receive international aid now that PaP has begun to stabilize. Normally it was a few hours drive SW of PaP, but landslides have made the drive much longer.
If you tell us what the purpose of your trip is and whether you're going solo or with an organization, I might be able to offer more help in context. I spent 2 months in Gonaïves last year.
Chris.
