Well, I have been to Gdanks, Sopot and Miedzyzdroje ... and I really enjoyed all those places. But I guess it depends on what you are searching for, what you actually want to do.

I can recommend Panda hostel in Jewish quartier - I stayed there for a few days and it was really great:) It's very cosy and crazy cheap! And it's near the place with these famous cracow kind of pizza (zapiekanka)- delicious!

Why not a hostel? I've been in Krakow many times and I always stay in hostels. And I can truly recommend Old Town Hostel, it's near Market Square, but there is nice and quiet.
