if you are talking about going overalnd the entire way, that is impossible due to the Darien Gap. Honduras has been getting more dangerous and there are obviously areas in Columbia that you don't want to visit but by and large you should be OK.

Definitely figure out which tours you want to take first. Central/South America can be cheap if you want it to be, but it can also be expensive. You can save a lot of money by foregoing the tours, of course.

Take a bus to La Entrada de Copan, then a bus to Santa Rosa (preferably a fast bus) and next to Gracias. Takes about 4 h alltogether. (From Wikitravel) How would I find out the bus schedule? Do I have to wait until I get there?
