Luang Prabang has many options. One of the top of the line ones I remember seeing was $40USD a night. But it had nothing more then the beautiful guesthouses along the river which was much cheaper.

I'm kind of confused. If you are leaving from Thailand, and going to Ha Noi, and then coming back to Ha Noi, why not buy the ticket when you are in Thailand? How far in advance do you have to get your Vietnam visa?
