nice one starlagurl, they are a couple of good entries you found.. i like the first one a lot.. i would've thought it would be a good idea to split up the 48hr train journey with a stop.. xi'an, chengdu or somewhere less visited..

Basically all the hostels in Chengdu will be able to arrange the same sort of permit. We used our hostel to book the flight/permit combo but once we were in Tibet we were on our own.

... 't stay there myself but I know some people who did and found it pretty good. No idea why they are moving but the new place seems quite nice. I know they are recommended for putting Tibet tours together, but then so are the other hostels in Chengdu.

thanks for your suggestions. we think it had something to do with the proxy server we were using. We're travelling trough china and were not able to upload in Chengdu. Moved onto a new city now and everythings working again! cheers
