The only thing i would add to the above lists is taking the Ferry from BUenos Aires to Colonia, Uruguay. It's a very unique and fun day trip. Enjoy!

I was pleasantly surprised by Bolivia too - especially the Uyuni region by the Chilean border. Uruguay also had some hidden treasures I didn't expect - especially the Colonial town of Colonia.

You could always stop in Santa Fe or Rosario....but I would recommend trying to go through Uruguay if you can....cross over on the ferry from Colonia to Bsas.
