... hopping about a little bit....you could do a day or two in phuket....a day in phi phi which is a two hour ferry and then a day or two in krabi which is another 2 hour ferry ride. please dont let bangkok and phuket be the only things you see of thailand

... to go to Phuket. As for options, I'd say pretty much the same - a couple of days in Phuket then get straight on a boat and explore the islands. Christina, if flying direct to Krabi is an option I'd be doing that, and using Krabi as my base..
