My only comment on this, is my hope that the Sri Lankan poeple will re-introduce the national slogan they adopted following the 2004 tsunami to help them recover from more recent conflict and tragedies. "BOUNCE BACK SRI LANKA"

I went to Sri Lanka for 2 weeks last October and had no trouble at all. I used local buses everywhere and found them easy and very cheap. The further north you went, the more security checks there were on the buses but they only really stopped for about 10 ...

I am English but live in Sri Lanka. No problems here in Negombo. North & East to be avoided as are some areas in the South now. Colombo can also be 'unpredictable' Check out the travel warnings issued by the Uk Foreign office on line.
