... understandable to someone belonging to the European culture. Moscow has nothing to do with windows, just pure, normal Russia as it is. Moscow is more "Russian" than St. Petersburg, so it would be better for someone with ethnographical interests.

I used a company called to travel from St Petersburg through to Mongolia. I'd recomend them, especially since they simplified the whole tricky visa process.
