... and worthy stuff you get in public art galleries. And if you make it as far as the north, head inland into the hill villages - its a whole different Portugal, very medieval Drink vinho verde and white port, eat suckling pig and custard-based pastries.

Great tips Tanya! I'm going to Portugal for a week, this month. I'm flying into Lisbon and will be making my way south to Faro over the course of the week. Any further tips for that? Best places to stop overnight en-route etc...? Cheers

Oh wow... I desperately want to explore Portugal and Spain sometime. Torre de Belem looks interesting: And these cathedrals are also beautiful: I am obsessed with chocolate con churros, so make sure you get some while you are there

Oh I heard a podcast once about Portugal and ever since, I've been obsessed with this chocolate drink they have there... it's like sweet, rich, dense, delicious chocolate pudding and you dip churros in it! Don't leave without tasting it ...
