... they just take the tour to machu picchu and they travel to puno by their own and well I recommend you to take a tour because machu picchu it is so popular, you should visit arequipa too and trujillo or some cities from the north of peru. well good luck

... the rain will fall mostly in the afternoons, and is not the cold miserable rain you get in northern climes (though there are always exceptions). Whatever, you will have a wonderful time in Peru. P.S. I'm actually in Trujillo at this very moment.

... is a wonderful experience. I backpacked from the Bolivian border to Ecuador. Don't miss all the sights. The Inca Trail is a wonder. Lima is worth a look as well as lake Titicaca and the coast up through Trujillo to Ecuador. Have fun and good luck.

... prices. I don't know how long you are going to stay, but of course I'm sure you realise that Trujillo and Cajamarca are in totally the opposite direction than Arequipa and MP. You will have to connect through Lima between these destinations. ...
