... is quite backward which can be frustrating. Here is the contact numbers for the Omani Tourism Office... they have offices in Europe as well which might be easier than ringing the oman office or emailing them (hope you do get a reply!) !

... do visa runs from Dubai. I would suggest hiring a 4WD (check out hiring from Dubai and ensure that insurance covers you taking the car into Oman). Petrol is really cheap here. Any information I grab while there in July I will post on here under Oman.
