... Tulum, Coba, and the whole riviera maya, using cabs, collective cabs, and even at night we felt safe. Maybe just if you want to stroll around at night, stay in touristic crowded areas, like 5° avenida in Playa del Carmen, but that's just common sense...

... are very inexpensive, with 5 dollars they get you there, even if Tulum if you are looking for something to do, is not the right place, there is really nothing... North of the resort , 35 mnts you go to Playa del Carmen.. much better.. Hope this was helpful
