Just came back from Acapulco, Manzanillo, and Zihuatenejo. It depends what you're looking for. Acapulco is crowded, exciting, and very urban. I like that. But it is not pretty. The beaches are not protected in most places, so swimming isn't great ...

Honestly, I would skip Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco and Cancun. I've been to Oaxaca, and it was nice. I've also been to Cuernavaca and it was marvelous. Try to go somewhere that not so many people go.

I agree. And I'm looking forward to Acapulco. If I get my way, we're going snorkeling at Roqueta Island while we're there. It sounds like a lovely day.

I think Acapulco is just as touristy as Cancun, isn't it? But, I believe you can find nice places in every place, no matter how touristy, so don't worry.

Cancun is just a Myth. Unless you're a drunk spring breaker you shouldn't visit. The Riviera Maya is the place to go. Others are Los Cabos or Isla Mujeres maybe Cozumel. Oh! And avoid Acapulco at all costs.

... birth in Japan, I was brought here at the age of two. We just passed thru on the way to Germany. On my own, the first country I visited was Mexico. A college buddy invited me to his home in Mexico City then took me around to Guadalajara & Acapulco.
