I believe Cameron Highlands & Melaka is a great choice but you can also turn to Langkawi Island, I mean great beach & lots of fun activity to do there...Besides there are numerous tours & sightseeing packages there available to book!

... like leeches. Being in this region you've got the perfect jumping off point for loads of stuff like climbing Mt Kinabalu, world-class diving amongst others. I'll also second Melaka - it's quiet during March but a really nice place

Melaka is great as it is a World Heritage site and the food is fantastic....also Cameron Highlands is a must....very lush and green (the vegie belt of Malyasia)
