... 39;s hard to pick, is there one thing you'd absolutely recommend that I should definitely do in my 6days? Just not sure whether to stay in the Tawau/Semporna region and do stuff there or to trek across to Kota Kinabalu and do some things en route. Hmm.

... , getting into Tawau in the morning. Got any tips on the best stuff to do? I want to get my PADI and then was thinking of going across country to fly back to KL from Kota Kinabalu. Is this a good idea and what would you recommend doing? Cheers, Polly

... let you do all the things you'd like to although you might need to rely on tours to get to some places. In Kota Kinabalu there are heaps of places willing to help you out. The people at the Red Palm hostel where we stayed were incredibly helpful

... Tiger Airways offer a cheap flight from Darwin/Perth to Singapore and Jet-Star now have a cheap flight to Singapore via Cairns and Darwin. From there you could hop over to Malaysia and get a flight with Air Asia to Kota Kinabalu for around $AU50!
