Best way to get to Madagascar?

All these ways of getting to Madagascar are expensive (£800 or more) Is there no way to get there for less? How about flying to Durban SA and then getting a boat? Any ideas? I love Madagascar, but unfortunately I haven't won the lottery!

Films I've seen at the flicks recently are Transporter 3 and Madagascar 2. I liked Transporter 3 - even though there were some real cheesy parts in it, but Madagascar 2 I thought was a complete waste of time.

The map site that shows where you'd pop out on the other side of the Earth is an antipode map. Pretty fun stuff. That's way cool. I am in the Indian Ocean, southeast of Madagascar!
