... winding mountain road ( I assume you want to go to McLeodGanj, where the dalai lama lives, and not the actual town of Dharamsala, which is a regular Indian town), so should take some time. On paper, the distances seem not so far, but in actual practice ...

I've been close to Amritsar on my motorcycle, but only by accident on my way to Dharamsala. Perhaps on this trip I should go to the golden temple, stay a night or two, and report back. Time permitting, that is. Sikhs are my favorite bunch in India, ...

As far as I know, Dharamsala is a town in the mountains (himachal pradesh), a district of which is called McCleodganj, where the Tibetan government in exile and the Dalai Lama are. Spent two weeks in McCleodganj, and had to pay for my lodging! ...

I know on the west side that you could go Srinagar/Jammu/Dharamsala/Manali/Leh/ Spitti Valley/Shimla, then perhaps Dehra Dun, maybe, maybe through Nepal or something to get to the eastern range, but once there, everyone I know says when visiting Sikkim/ ...

You can also take a train from Delhi to Kalka and then the bus to Dharamsala if you want to minimise your travelling by bus. It can be quite tiring. Also for the buses here I'd recommend a private bus to the government buses, they are a lot more ...

Haha, I went to the dentist in Dharamsala, in India, had 3 teeth capped, and the best part was. . . NO ANESTHETIC! I kind of sang and hummed along when he hit a nerve, and he said "that is good, my friend, music will help with the pain. . ." ...
