I strongly recommend to travel in the North of Germany. Hamburg is the nicest city in all of Germany and a visit to Berlin is a MUST. The south, e.g. Bavaria, also Heidelberg etc. is quite touristy. Happy travels!

Hi Myself and 5 friends have decided to go to Germany early in December. We cannot decide on either Hamburg or Frankfurt. We are all aged in our early 40s. Which city do you recommend?

I would recommend the north too.. Hamburg and Berlin are pretty nice! Esecially in the summertime, in the wintertime I wouldnt recommend Germany at all!

... , since my anscestors are from there. But if you have any roots in Germany, find out where your family comes from & go there to track down your long lost cousins. Otherwise, I'd recommend Bavaria, Berlin, Hamburg, Bremen, or the Mosel Valley.

I understand the Fishmarket in Hamburg is not to be missed. You have to get up really early, or stay up really late to see it, and check your guide book because it is not everyday.
