Getting from Santo Domingo to Punta Cana

I am flying into Santo Domingo in Sept. Would like to know if there is any bus service from Santo Domingo to Punta Cana. It doesn't look like the two major carriers Caribe and Metro run from SDQ to PUJ. I may be wrong about Caribe and Metro. What ...

safety - Samaná Peninsula travel question

I have never heard that the Samana Peninsula is unsafe. Wherever did you hear about this? Other than some parts of the capital, Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic is considered a very safe Caribbean destination.
