Um I took the train from Sydney to Katoomba in the Blue Mountains for $14AU return..... Is that expensive? no thats quite good as the cost is usually greater than that

... are just lookouts or shopping areas, but others are entrances to amazing hiking trails. I'm staying at the Blue Mountain YHA in Katoomba and it is by far the best hostel I have ever been to. The scenery is spectacular here and worth the trip. cheers

... and rent a board on the beach. You could also do a couple train trips out of Sydney if you have a few extra days. Katoomba, in the blue mountains is beautiful and there is a lot to do if you are in outdoor stuff... ie rockclimbing, mountain biking, etc. ...
