Casting my mind back (and without thinking too much) I'd say: 1. Uluru 2. Kakadu National Park 3. Whitsundays 4. Fraser Island 5. Margaret River I liked Melbourne alot too, but I've heard alot of mixed feelings.

Kakadu National Park (just next to Darwin - well, sort of, it's 400km away!) comes recommended. Beautiful wilderness with a few simple campsites. Grab a swag and go
