If airfares are the same in Argentina as they are elsewhere, I would really suggest you do round trip air to Iguazu. It probably won't cost much more. The bus trip is around 20 hours each way, and boring as Hell. Definitely 3 nights in Mendoza and ...

How far away are you from Salta, Mendoza, Cordoba or Posadas? Wikitravel says you can take a bus from any of these places.
