... just read "The Places in Between" What a great journey. That guy is a brave soul. Rory Stewart was just on CNN commenting on the war in Afghanistan. He's slightly crazy but incredibly brave!! What were his comments on the war?

... across Afghanistan, from Herat to Kabul, in 2002. So far so good... There's a really good book about family life in Afghanistan that I read awhile back, The Bookseller of Kabul by Asne Seierstad if anyone's interested in that sort of thing.

I am not 100% sure of all countries, but I know it would affect some of the middle eastern countries like Iraq, Afghanistan maybe Iran etc..... But you never know you might just get a immigration officer in a bad mood going into the US or even Oz LOL! ...

Just listened to Kabul Beauty School. Incredible view of the culture of Kabul, Afghanistan. Puts current events in perspective. I really enjoyed this book....makes me really want to go there.....

My burning desire list is probably a bit skewed compared to others but if the political situations were a bit more stable I would love to see Afghanistan and Southern Iraq and then if I could easily get a visa, Saudi Arabia.
