We arrived back in katherine for one night on our way to Kunnunnura.That everning we met a Man called Manuel,he showed us how to do an Aboridginal painting and we got to pat Edward the Emu it pecked my hair.We had dinner and went to the hot springs of course.Kunnunnura hear we come....

We arrived in Katherine yesterday (Saturday) – we only had just over 100kms to travel so we got to the caravan park quite early in the day.  It is a lovely shady park and it is a lovely relief from the much warmer weather than we have been experiencing for the last few weeks.  (Not as bad as Melbourne though...

We made it to the next state (territory) on the tour - just in time for territory day (the NTs independence day celebrations). Although we nearly didnt make it. After the dryness of Kakadu the sight of the water in Katherine Gorge was a very welcome sight - the absence of saltwater croc's ("salties") meant that we could actually get in the water and hire a kayak for the day (very welcome in plus 30 degree heat). Day 9 - Katherine Once again an early start, as we wanted to do some food shopping and get to the Gorge for the afternoon cruise. After a short drive from town down to Katherine Gorge parked our cars and on the 1pm 2 hour cruise, very relaxing. Time to setup camp and contemplate dinner on the road again.
