... of us. We then kept trying to go around him in deep powder (which slows you down and makes you lose momentum), and every time we did we would grind to a stop and Micko would pass us again. Pat was shouting at him to move over, but he didn't seem to hear. Pat and Micko are a bit like an old married couple, and Micko has obviously learned to tune Pat out completely. ... one point. I was tired and my skis didn't turn in time when I was skiing powder in the trees, and I hit a branch sticking out of the powder with with my right knee. A friend asked me what to expect upon arrival here soon... I explained about how surprisingly dated it was here - no cell phones for foreigners, a cash culture and toilets that violate you!

... people due Monday apparently so I'm looking forward to that.

Also had my first taste of Niseko snow fall early in the week. It's unreal. Pure snow blizzard and it strangely even feels different to the snow anywhere else.

Due to start work on Tuesday, really cannot wait but so nervous being the "new kid". Yiokes!

Lots to learn but I have a good head start until the season commences :)

This morning sees the expedition team leave the ship they are all very happy for the season to be over and to be heading home. It is sad to see them go especially José. José comments this morning over breakfast do I remember parting ways in Montevideo, how could I forget we both remember it vividly ...
