... of us. We then kept trying to go around him in deep powder (which slows you down and makes you lose momentum), and every time we did we would grind to a stop and Micko would pass us again. Pat was shouting at him to move over, but he didn't seem to hear. Pat and Micko are a bit like an old married couple, and Micko has obviously learned to tune Pat out completely. It was very funny and frustrating at the same time.
So unfortunately ...
... one point. I was tired and my skis didn't turn in time when I was skiing powder in the trees, and I hit a branch sticking out of the powder with with my right knee. The branch actually broke with a huge crack, and Pat managed to get most of it on GoPro. Luckily my knee was stronger than the branch, so the tree came off second best, but I do have a nice big bruise as evidence. Sorry for the abbreviated entry, I'm pretty exhausted trying to keep up with the boys! Speak again ...

A friend asked me what to expect upon arrival here soon... I explained about how surprisingly dated it was here - no cell phones for foreigners, a cash culture and toilets that violate you!
I felt like I crushed a childhood dream when he said he was expecting the starship enterprise... I wish! I love Spock!

Also had my first taste of Niseko snow fall early in the week. It's unreal. Pure snow blizzard and it strangely even feels different to the snow anywhere else.
Due to start work on Tuesday, really cannot wait but so nervous being the "new kid". Yiokes!
Lots to learn but I have a good head start until the season commences :)
The ship starts to sail into port and I can hear load music playing. The authorities are playing loud music welcoming the ship to the port. What a nice welcome. This morning sees the expedition team leave the ship they are all very happy for the season to be over and to be heading home. It is sad to see them go especially José. José comments this morning over breakfast do I remember parting ways in Montevideo, how could I forget we both remember it vividly ...
