    ... interview us. He was doing a report for school. Children learn English in school here. Sinan introduced himself and spoke a few words in English but asked Sue the questions in Turkish. Over the three days lots of friends and relatives dropped in to look at us. Sometimes they talked to Sue in Turkish but most did not.

    The Karacan's were all delightful and so good to us, it was a wonderful three days.

    ... was local market day. However, we were told that the Zeynep was busy at the shop and tomorrow would be better. So wove a little bit more and at 5 we were told it was quitting time. Then tea was served and as we sat down they brought out a birthday cake for Janet's birthday, which will be May 3.

    ... all got a chance to weave a bit. Then mother, Sebahat, showed us how they put some sizing in the yarn. Using flour, the make a water liquid, just bring it to boil, then cool it down with more water. This mixture is the poured over the skeins of yarn and then the skeins are pushed into the solution with a very large wooden spoon to ensure the solution penetrates the skein.     We hadn't had a bite after breakfast and were famished. We found this wonderful restaurant that specialized in this way of preparing lamb (we never found out what they did to it.)
