    We stopped at the port of Corfu. The only way to really get around the island is to take an excursion. At least it was for us. We were going to see a Monastery in the village of Palaiokastritsa and to the village of Gastouri to visit the 19th century Achilleion Palace.
    The places were very beautiful and again the excursions didn't disappoint ...

    May 21,sunny and hot in Corfu, the "Emerald Island", at the entrance of the Adriatic Sea, 2nd largest of the seven Ionian Islands, home to Greece's best olive oil.It has been a glorious day in Corfu and the sea is so very very blue. It is 4:30 and we set sail at 6. We are sitting on the balcony with a cool drink, cheese and bikkies and wish you were here too, looking across the port towards the old town and the forts of Corfu with us.
