... of Pedhi...a quiet fishing village. Here we enjoy a wonderful lunch of saganaki, Aubergine salad and beet root with garlic...all washed down with a litre of the house rose. What a shame our ferry was cancelled!
We return by local bus - an experience in itself. Up the narrow winding streets, over the hill and there again is the wonderful view of Symi in the late afternoon light.

Picture this...Grilled Aubergine, stuffed juicy tomatoes, fried calamari, sakanagi, Greek salad...heaven on a plate!   When the ferry turned the stony massif indented by deep gulfs to reveal Symi you have before you a living memorial to the 19th Century.
