... up and returned it to me. Phew!). After that we went to a restaurant to try the local dish, Kibbeling. It's just fried pieces of fish. It was pretty good and came with fries. We were left to hang in the city for a while then we will get back on the bus for Amsterdam. We get back to our hotel and it is so much cooler here. A thick layer of clouds have rolled in blocking the sun and we are finally comfortable. Then it starts raining and thundering! How ...

... It was a really nice break to hang in the quiet small towns and bike a lot. On our last night we went back to Amsterdam and met up with one of my besties from NH, Rachel Shields, she is traveling around Europe with her girlfriend and a friend. ... encompasses city life - canals, bikes, people walking around.

Our air bnb for our last night was a little attic space in another part of Amsterdam about half a mile away from our first. There were 70 vertical (not kidding) stairs to climb to get to our room. It was really interesting but killer on the calves. It was such a cute little space. Our host had records and CDs of a lot of American music so after rob and I went for dinner we spent some time chilling ...

... more, they rode their bikes in from their house near a canal to the station (they don't own a car) - so Dutch!! Had they been wearing clogs, my life may have been complete. But no, just more disappointment. We had lunch at a restaurant near the station. We had croquets, which are like a deep fried crumbed chicken mince type thing, that you cut in half and put on top of some bread. It looked simple, but was really nice! The conversation just flowed ...
