... to sound appealing. Only 2 hours away and with a cheap hostel themed after The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, it was an easy sell. We found a train leaving in fifteen minutes and sprinted back across the street to the station, shielding our backpacks from the awful rain as much as possible, and grateful I had decided to put all my clothes in gallon-sized ziplock bags. (Alert, alert! Really good travel tip!)

... morning as we set off for Amsterdam at 7:25am. We passed through some beautiful countryside and happily I spotted my first windmill before travelling too far. It did not disappoint although there were not as many as I predicted. We stopped at a cheese and clog factory which was really interesting. I have managed to tick another thing off my bucket list - I have now seen clogs being made, worn them, been photographed in them, and even sat in an oversized one. Just love ...

Bid and John live in a lovely part of amsterdam in a nice big house. Their kids deleila and Casper are gorgeous. They showed us their favourite toys. Had a nice chat to them before heading back to the centre. Had a quiet afternoon as Nicholas wasn't in the best shape. May 4th is the Commeration Day. It is a day to remember all those that were lost.
We walked to the deportation center iof the Jews for 1942 and 1943. It used to be a theatre with a first and second balcony. As children were born, they had to include religion on birth certificate. 80% of the Jewish community disappeared. The deportation center is the oldest holocaust memorial in Europe. ... come back in. Pretty convenient if you ask me. We leave Amsterdam at 7:15 AM and land at LAX at 12:45 PM....almost like time travel. In reality we will be traveling for a total of 14 1/2 hours...BUSINESS CLASS!!! I think we'll manage just fine. Love you all...see you soon...goedenacht...Good Night.
