We were greeted by a friendly bellhop who arranged for our car to be parked by a valet and help us unload our luggage. The gal at the front desk was just aa friendly, she apologized that our room wasn't quite ready, but should be available in about 30 minutes. This room would allow us to have connecting rooms tomorrow night, so the extra wait will be worth it. She even offered to check us in for the 2nd room for tomorrow for our exchange daughter's family. We will only need to go down and get the key cards.

Suzanne at the Wyndham Resorts Guest Services was also extremely friendly and helpful. She booked us for a free luncheon tomorrow to include our Exchange daughters, we will even get a voucher for free parking ( 3 days) a savings of over $108.00 plus the cost of lunch. We will be listening to a presentation, and we were promised we would not have any upgrading sales, just information about a new free program starting next year. A call from the front desk to confirm our satisfaction with our room is making this stay memorable. We even got a card under our door from suzanne confirming some things we talked about earlier and wishing us a grand visit. Not sure what else they could do to make us feel welcomed.

This was the first of our RCI bookings, and wow, what a treat. Camping 1 star background, 3 star expectations, and 5 star rooms. We were going to use the full week and soak up the luxury in this great city.

... br> Once at the much sought after location, we successfully navigated the self check in kiosk and were soon directed to a general area to select the convertible we'd reserved. There was only one, which made the selection easy. After Googling a YouTube video to figure out how to put the top down, we were on our way. My husband soon expertly navigated us to our hotel (although he was a little disappointed to find out that while ...

Seats were great, facities were great and we did have some excitment, during the night the lights flickered (twice) and the scoreboard went blank for a while. On the way out I heard a attendant talk about an accident on the 101, did this have something to do with the lights flickering?

Now this is the earliest I have been up in a while. I feel pretty bad for the others in my room as I'm bumping around in the dark trying to get all my stuff out of my locker, not to mention getting down off of the upper bunk. That causes enough commotion in itself. I'll definitely remember to try to get the bottom bunk for any future hostel stays. I feel like I've yammered on this before but I feel strongly about this bottom bunk thing. At 6am I'm ready to go and walking to the bus ...

Day 1 Sydney to San Francisco

... hours! Jai came with us to say goodbye and he drove our car back home. I didn't really realise that the kids avoided having breakfast at home  so that they could have something at the airport, won't let that happen again, we could have fed a small town with what that cost. it was only while we sat there eating that we heard about the siege in Sydney, and even then it was only a snippet we heard on the news, and heard other passengers talking about it. There was talk of ...
