... learn it was under contract, someone had made an offer and it had been accepted! :-(. I was a little disappointed, but figured that if it was already sold, then perhaps it wasn't meant to be. Anna said to me, when she called to give me the bad news, that "if it was meant to be, it could still work out"..., and that she had asked the agent to let her know if the sale fell through. I left back to Geneva two days later, a little bit disappointed that I hadn't ...

... the pits where they do technical inspection of the entrants. I parked near there and started wandering around the pits chatting with people and checking out the cars. The most interesting cars to me are the Streamliners, cars built only to go fast at the salt flats.

There had been a road going off to the right when I first entered. I found out that that lead to the starting lines for ...

... The Prophet of the Restoration" movie which was of course pretty biased.... but I learned a lot that day and the next about the Church of Latter Day Saints. The hostel had very little aircon if at all and it was hot as was SLC. I ended up doing laundry in the hostel and stayed down in the little dungeon/cellar, where the machines are, the whole time as it was cooler there! I spent 3 nights at the hostel and then flew to Chicago via Denver.
