    Last day on the Broads

... weather. It hadn't been warm but it certainly had been dry. The only rain we had on the Broads was one night near Potter Heigham. But today was different. We drove home through heavy rains and the trip back took longer than coming here. Jane is glad to be home and set to work to clean, wash and iron all our clothes. Home, sweet ...

... turned out that the "museum" was probably just a private collection of windmills. There was no information or signs and the visit took 5 minutes. So we walked back to the "Trinidad" with the plan to sail back to Ludham Bridge, buy some minced meat (the butcher was closed yesterday) and refill the tanks with water as hopefully today would be the day where we had our first hot shower at that bridge. However there was a pub (Staithe and Willow Tea Room) just adjacent to our so perfectly ...

... under Ludham Bridge was smooth. Jane's boat handling is excellent. We turned right into the River Bure towards Wroxham. The river is wide and both children had further goes at steering the boat. Marcus is very good, too, but Amy needed a lot of guidance.

Near Horning we found some mooring. As Jane got so stressed last time we decided to swap places again. Me at the steering, Jane on the ropes - and we managed the perfect mooring. Only to decide that we ...

We got up the normal time and had breakfast. I packed and Jane did all the important things like ironing and washing up the last few plates.

We left well on time and had a good run to our first stop which was Mundford. There was a war memorial naming the uncle of grandma, William Houchen. Grandma's ancestors used to live here and we went to St Leonard's church where we found the graves of the Shinn's as well as that ...
