    ... in....... and relax!

We are in Mooloolaba for at least a week depending on the sea conditions. Our next leg to the Sandy Straits, Fraser Island via the Wide Bay Bar needs to be attempted only in calm conditions. The Wide Bay Bar has a notorious reputation. I cannot think of a better place to wait. Mooloolaba has a great feel to the place. An endless selection of eateries, the freshest of seafood, a beautiful beach and boardwalk ........ and more family to catch ...

    Mooloolaba (05/10)

We set off towards Noosa with no real idea of where to go as we were now slap bang in the middle of the holiday weekend and no-where online had any vacancy at all. Our first stop was Mooloolaba a small-ish town on the Sunshine Coast. As we drove in we passed several motels and hotels all with ‘No Vacancy’ signs up. We parked up at a food court to get some (you guessed it) food and as we were walking around ...

... we wanted to pick up a few things, including a blanket for the van. We managed to pick up a double duvet for only $20, pretty good and well worth it for the next 2 weeks. We went via the supermarket to try and find a disposable BBQ but the shop assistant had never heard of them?! So odd, unless they call them something else over here. We also picked up some alcoholic beverages from a wine shop, for some reason they don't tend to sell alcohol ...
