We drove the 26 miles to the ferry terminal in Falmouth in 30 minutes, parked the car and caught the shuttle to the port. It is a 7 mile ferry crossing that takes about an hour.

The ferry was diverted due to rough conditions to Vineyard Haven instead of the ticketed destination of Oak Bluffs, where our hotel was located. So we had to taxi it to the hotel. We ...

Drove 112 miles in 1.5 hours.

I had no idea that Cape Cod was this close to Boston, it was a very easy and fast drive. I'm sure that in high season the route we took would be clogged up, however we had it almost to ourselves.

It was sunny though not hot enough for a swim in the ocean, so the locals were saved from that sight for another day. We stayed in West Dennis which is about the dead centre of the ...

We found a neat little path to the beach where we walked between some gorgeous homes with beautiful gardens. We played in the water a little and then strolled back. A beautifully quiet ...

Year 2, Day 96 - Today we took the ferry to Nantucket. It was a beautiful day and we thoroughly enjoyed our day on the island. Yes, 50 years ago, I came with my girlfriend, Sandra, on a trip with our church youth group! It has grown over that period of time, but not as much as you might have guessed. Still NO fast food joints! That alone is a real blessing.

We took a bus tour for 1.5 hours from an ...

... the law now, but only if you are having a meal, as we're all stuffed from lunch, we jump back on the bus and return to Oak Bluffs.  Found a nice bar over looking the sea, I went and got the drinks, only to find I was in trouble with the waitresses as it was suppose to be table service. The chance of a tip had gone begging I guess. One more drink and back on the ferry to Woods Hole. Gordon's turn to drive now and we headed back to Hyannis, stopped in a place for tea ...
