On Sunday morning we had arranged to meet up with my cousin Roger and his wife Cathy, who live in Vancouver. They came up for the day to visit. It was great to see them again. It had been six years since we last saw them which was on a vacation to Birch Bay. We had a great time chatting and talking about long departed relatives and sharing stories our Fathers used to tell. I awoke to the sun in my eyes on yet another beautiful snow day. I got

It didn't go without incident though as I went a little fast over a blind ridge to find someone had built a little jump! Not hitting it straight meant I landed badly and then fell onto my side and slid along the ground on my front with my skis in the air behind me! ...

... turns! I eventually managed to dig myself out, then set off in more powder, this time a little more wary. I skied as straight as I could and had a blast. It feels so good cutting through fresh snow that nobody else has skied in yet. I could get used to this!

My second chair lift up, I noticed that all the nice fresh powder I had spotted 15 minutes ago had all been churned up, it didn't take long. There was a huge sense of excitement in the air, everyone ...
