Historical Traveler Reviews Westgate Vacation Villas Kissimmee
What a dump !! Watch what you pay for. Mis-represented is right. You don't get what you see over the web-site. They call this a resort ? Our condo was right across from "the pizza hut". You're told to put the garbage bags outside on the lawn (or close to it) in front of the condo at night...gross. I'm a simple person with simple tastes but this place was really a disappointment. I I don't get where these people say "it's the greatest" are coming from ?? No customer service. I'm scared to look at another time share after dealing with that.
Be Very Careful When You Go To Westgate Vacation Villas!
My family and I were really excited about going to Westgate. I thought I had done all my homework. I researched Westgate as much as I could, and I even talked to people who had been to Westgate. My family and I had driven all night to get to the resort. We checked in, and we were taken to our "luxury villa". What a joke! It was absolutely filthy, it stank, there was no hot tub, and there were MIRRORS all over the living room wall (how cheesy!). I called the front desk, and was kept on hold FOREVER! Finally, the person that checked me in came on the line, and told me that housekeeping was coming to look at my unit. Housekeeping would try to clean my room, and if that was not going to work, then housekeeping would determine whether or not I was to be given a different room. That was unacceptable, of course, and I told them that I wanted a room that looked like the room on the website. They hemmed and hawwed, but I was finally given a room that was better than what we were initially given. When my husband and I went on the time share presentation, lo and behold, we were taken to rooms located in the Westgate Center that were absolutely beautiful...and amazingly they looked just like the website! Wouldn't it make sense for them to give us (potential time share owners) the best that they had? Be very careful when you take advantage of their offers. Try to ask them where you will be staying. The newer the accomodations, the better.
Loved it and will reurn there soon!
I visited and stayed here for a week it was the best vacation every the hotel is so luxurious and beautiful i loved and willl definietly return
I purchased a temporary timeshare back in may of 2000. I had to use it by august of 2002. I paid off my balance and received my confirmation letter for my vacation date. I called prior to the arrival date to make sure i was not owing any money. I had the vacation in may of 2002 and few months later in of october 2002, i received a call stating i owed payments from 2001, which i questioned. The caller informed me that he would look into matter and get back to me, since i informed that my payment was made in full. He said i was owing from the previous year. Obviously westgate would not have allowed me to take the vacation without full payment. When i told him this he abrutly hanged the phone up. Two weeks laters i received a letter from a collections agency representing westgate. Something is not right with this picture and i intend to get to the bottom of this matter. Westgate never informed that i owed any money over the period of that year and i have proof that i paid in full. Be very careful with your westgate bills...
i went on a tour and bought here. they had me thinking i was getting one thing but in fact it was not
The Absolute Best (Responding to "Mis-represented")
We are owners of 4 timeshares at Westgate and have vacationed EVERY YEAR at Westgate for the past 7 years. Both the Villas and Towers are absolutly beautiful! They are just as beautiful as their photos if not more since all the recent upgrades. When you arive you receive a bottle of champaign and a flower. Your rooms include leather furniture, screen TV, washer and dryer, VCR's, and one of the most luxurious jacuzzi in the master that you can drown in just to name a few... It is always extremly clean and the service is the best.
I have only had 2 problem in all the past 7 years and here is how they were handled...
#1 Problem - One year the washer was making a lot of noise and dripping slightly so I called maintance and I had a new washer installed in less then a half hour.
#2 Problem - I reserved a week one year in the villa and when I got there there was a mistake and I was reserved for the towers. Well I wanted the villa so asked to talk to the manager. He immediatly came out and asked what the problem was so I explained the situation and a minute later he hands me 2 keys to a 2 bedroom and apolagized for their mix up and gave me my bottle of champaign and flower.
Their are activities for the full day. BBQs at the pool, games, kid activities, water activities, a pizza restaurant & grocery, and after reading our owner updates it is just becoming more amazing every year. Westgate is only a few minutes to Disney and in the heart of the Kissimmee excitement. It is definatly worth a visit.
I truly am surprised about the other review titled "Mis-represented". As an owner I vacation there every year and visit several times a year since I live within close distance, and never once have I seen ANYTHING or heard of ANYTHING near as terrible. I truly love Westgate and will continue going every year.

My family just returned from there and loved it!
Like the reviewer before me, having just returned from spending a wonderful week at the Westgate Vacation Villas, just this past week, I really wonder if the author of "mis-represented" stayed at the right place or what? It just doesn't add up, but if it is accurate, I feel very sorry for those people. There's no way the actual management we dealt with would have permitted such a thing had they ever known, I am quite sure. Our two bedroom unit was identical to the pictures on the website with only a couple of minor variations. There weren't any Roman columns around the two-person Jacuzzi, and the TVs weren't really 52", but closer to 27" -- not real problems in our book. The rooms were spacious, very well-maintained, and immaculate. The furniture was, in fact, leather. The unit was fully applianced with washer, dryer, 3 TVs, VCR, disposal, micro, stove/oven, dishwasher, toaster, dishes, pots, pans, glasses, utensils, etc., etc. Everything worked well. Plenty of nice, hot water for showers. Nice people. Couldn't ask for much more. There were lots of things to do on the grounds, but we only used the place as a jumping off point for WDW, Universal, Sea World and the like. I can't speak for others' experiences, or for smaller units, or for units in other parts of the very large complex, but the unit/section we stayed in, everything was pretty well perfect. We, too, are very experienced travelers, and while you can find better views from a room overlooking the ocean or what-not, for what we expected at this particular place, we were even a little pleasantly surprised -- especially after reading "mis-represented's" posting just before we went there!
This place is beautiful
I had to write this after a read the "mis-representd" review. I can't believe this person is talking about the same place I visited 5 years ago & will stay again this Christmas. It was fabulous, the condo was beautiful & did have the leather furniture with like-new appliances just the way the resort describes. As far as customer service, the desk staff was very helpful. Upon arrival we received a bottle of champagne & flowers, whenever we needed something it was taken care of. The activities are endless, from the welcoming banquet to the continental breakfast buffets at the pool (I've heard they may not do this anymore). With all expansions they have going on I expect it to be even better then second time around, and the location can't be beat. All in all, this is a wonderful resort that is well worth you checking it out. I feel sorry for the "mis-represented" person, the only thing I can think of is that they must've "mis-takenly" stayed somewhere else.
Westgate Vacation Villas
I am an owner at Westgate, and based upon my review of the previous posting where the person described a terrible exprience with the resort...I must say that I am quite suprised that she had such a difficult experience based upon what I've experienced with Westgate. I have no idea why her trip turned out the way that it did but her description of Westgate is not the place that I know and love. Perhaps it was a condo that was just getting prepared for renovation (which they are constantly doing) - availability at Westgate is extremely limited because it has such a high demand due to what it has to offer. I have had quite a few experiences with time shares in my life and without a doubt I love this one above all. The service IS world class .....the townhouses have everything anyone on vacation with a family would ever want. It is a mile from Disneyworld. You would just have to go there to experience it yourself, but I stayed there one time based upon trading my time with another property and absolutely fell in love with the place (which says alot because I travel often). Again, if you are interested in taking a great vacation, this is definitely the place to stay! Take it from the perspective of a "jaded" traveller (by the way, I'm not on commission for posting this review).....
I just returned from my week's vacation at Westgate Vacation
Villa's and couldn't wait to share with you my opion of this place. I made my arrangements through Expedia. I was hesitant to do so (will never do again) but thought I had all the bases covered. First off, the unit we were checked into (2 bedroom) did not resemble anything like the photos you see on both Expedia and Westgate's web sites. Instead of the Leather furnishings, 52" TV, Full sized washer and dryer, etc. We ended up with a unit that had old ratty furniture, cheap furnishings, compact washer and dryer (took forever to dry clothes) filthy carpet, gross dirty bath tubs, cockroaches, ice maker that made rusty ice cubes and to top it all off, every picture for the unit was off the walls and stacked in a corner. I immediately tried to change rooms to one I thought I paid for. When I didn't get anywhere with the desk attendent I asked to speak with a manager. The manger would not come to the front desk but yelled from the back that I needed to speak with Expedia and that it was "not their responsibility.I "shouted" back that I would be willing to pay the extra (I was already paying full boat) for the room that they showed on their website. Without even checking the system, they told me there were no rooms available. It was totally frustrating, absolutely no customer service. Come on, if anything, pretend that your trying to take care of my situation, don't just totally blow me off. I thought writing this review would be therapy but it's making me madder so.... let me just warn you, this place is THE worst, in "every category" that I have ever seen in my many years of traveling. Unless your looking to find a cheap time share unit, stay away from this place.
