Day 4 - Las Vegas - Nevada

Hilarious day today. I met my first Texans and they were full of questions about my homeland. Was is really true that our government made everyone give up their guns? So is it really true then that you need a license to get one? What do you mean the licenses aren't for handguns like the one I keep in my purse? (she didn't have it in her purse when I met her, she wasn't allowed to fly with it so had to leave it at ...

... 116 Grad Fahrenheit, was ca. 46,7 Grad Celsius entspricht. In zwei statt in ...

Viva Las Vegas!

... it. Before leaving my table she had tried to bluff three times, had got one through, and got called the two others - once by the daughter of the truck driver. When she left therefore, she was not in a clever state, and things were looking bad. Things were going better for me, as I knocked out the truck driver, his wife, the dishevelled old man, and then folding most of the rest of my hands. As more and more people got knocked out they brought the ...

    Awesome!

    from anonymous

We were thrilled with out stay at the Westgate. We requested and got a new condo by the pool and were very happy with our suite. We were a little apprehensive by some of the reviews but saw nothing that would qualify any of the negative comments. This is a timeshare that is renting out any available rooms and you will be welcomed with a kit and invited to a 1 hour session. But whatever! These accomadations made the whole trip worthwhile becuase we would have been VERY unhappy staying in a casino hotel.

Not Thrilled with Westgate Flamingo Bay

    from frenchcountry

My husband and I stayed at Westgate Flamingo Bay on Valentine weekend.

Boy, did we need to cuddle because we had no heat whatsoever the first night. They fixed the heater the next day but it was 35 degrees out the first night. I wish I had read the reviews before I bid on this place.

The unit we were given was OK but old and in need of remodel. That's the problem with some places that are remodeling some of their units a few at a time. It's literally a crap shoot as to which type of unit you'll get. Stay at Hilton Vacation Club, it's much nicer for the same price or less and it's much closer to the strip.

I would live there if I could, it was unbelievable

    from anonymous

I couldn't believe that some of the reviews left for this place were negative. The people that stayed in it were probably snobs and too lazy to possibly have to clean. I would reccommend this place to everyone.

    What a great place

    from anonymous

We stayed in a two bedroom condo for two nights, it was great!

Everything was lovely and clean. Close enough to the Vegas Strip and easy to find. Great place for anyone!

    A Great place to stay

    from anonymous

We had a great experience. Pay no attention to the bad reviews. This place has everything. Marble floors and fireplaces, Granite counter tops and a hottub. Fountains and palm trees. Very clean, friendly service. We loved it

    EXCELLENT resort!!

    from anonymous

My husband and I have nothing but positive things to say about this Resort. Every employee made an all-out effort to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Hotel service was superb. 5-star

    Had a great time

    from anonymous

I went to the Westgate Flamingo Bay for New Years' week and had a great time. Having seen the other reviews, I was really expecting to have a terrible time, but I was pleasantly suprised! Although Vegas experienced snow, the pool and jacuzzi were heated and very nice. There is also a basketball court and small putting green on site. The villa (2-BR) was small compared to the other Westgate locations I'm familiar with, but very clean and well-appointed. Transportation is necessary if you want to go to the strip, but they have a shuttle in the evening (starting at 6p), and the local bus stops directly in front of the complex.

Not the luxury resort they claim to be!

    from anonymous

My sister and I stayed at the Westgate Flamingo Bay in November of 2003. Luckily our reservation was just for one night, although I think we would have been better off to sleep at the airport. Upon arriving they charged my credit card an extra $100 above the reservation. This was mentioned nowhere in the literature so I was quite suprised by this. It took them over 2 days to credit that back after I checked out.

Upon arriving we were told we were "lucky" that they had a room for us as they had over booked. The rooms were pretty bad, and something inside made us both itch. The bathroom was disgusting . They started construction before the crack of dawn so sleeping was out of the question. When we went to check out they were very unfriendly and I wanted to tell the people been sucked into the time share to run as fast as they could. Don't stay here no matter how cheap you get the room.

BEWARE of Westgate Flamingo Bug Bay!!!

    from anonymous

If you like BUGs, then Westgate is the place for you!!!! My family visited Westgate Flamingo Bay in June 2003. This was the WORST experience of our lives. Believe me, my husband and I are the most easygoing people, so for us to be thoroughly disgusted, there has got to be something seriously wrong there. When we stepped into the Villa, we were impressed by the lovely decor, but soon found out other problems existed that no tasteful decor could possibly make up for. Initial problem started off with no hot water, and the technician they sent to fix the problem obviously didn't resolve the problem as we had to take cold showers the next morning. The room came equipped with a DVD player that didn't work and he could not replace it because their store room was closed, although we needed it that evening for our kids to watch there favorite movies. There was alot of construction going at the resort, and we were put in the villas adjacent to the construction zone. I had two young children (ages 3 yrs and 12 months) that were playing all around the floor of the villa. We saw one or two cockroaches appear in the evening around 6:00 but by 11:00 pm, many more cockroaches were appearing. I was checking around the drawers and closets, then my husband and I saw a scorpion in the bedroom floor. After calling the night manager to request a new room, she said I would have to speak to the day manager. They did not lift a finger to help us! We ended up having to spray some disinfectant behind the armoire in order to "smoke out" the scorpion and thankfully, I was able to kill him. We were planning to stay three days, but after seeing all the bugs, made the decision to leave the next morning. In the morning, roaches were found under the fold-out bed in the living room, my mother was bit by one on her upper arm, I walked out of the villa and found at least 30 dead or semi-dead bugs scatter in front of our door. IT WAS DISGUSTING. Since we prepaid for our stay (attended their timeshare presentation and was stupid enough to get talked into buying a three day visit), we still have not received a refund for our unused days. Requests for refunds have been ignored, and we have now been forced explore other avenues to get our monies returned. These people have no integrity. My children could have been bitten by that d*** scorpion and they could care a less! I could go on and on about other problems we had, but I won't bore you anymore, but the bottom line advice I have for anyone is DON'T PURCHASE A TIMESHARE THERE OR TRADE YOUR TIMESHARE FOR A WEEK AT THIS PLACE OR DON'T RENT THIS 2ND RATE OFF THE STRIP WASTELAND. If you want excellent service, you better go elsewhere. Good Vacationing!!!

    Don't Stay There

    from anonymous

We had two rooms reserved with confirmation numbers. We tried to check in early but were told to come back at 4pm. Upon arriving at 4pm there was a long line of people trying to check in. They found out, as we did, that the hotel have no rooms for those with confirmations. There was a family of 6 or 7 with no place to stay. One lady threatened to have her attorney sue the hotel and, bingo, she got a room. They made no attempt to find alternate hotels and told us they weren't obligated to cover any additional costs that we might incure as a result oftheir mistakes. We paid $600.00 at the Monte Carlo. All of us were on our own to find a place to stay. The people were rude and made no attempt to rectify the situation. What a joke.
