... on my little rock I gazed down at the valley far below me and took in the beauty of the mountain behind me. It was a beautifully peaceful and stunning spot. They say that being out in nature is good for the soul, a sentiment to which I could fully relate as I relaxed on my lofty perch munching on an apple. Labor Day is the end of the summer season here and this campground is being very lightly used. The shuttle to Devil's Post Pile is discontinued and I'm told that I don't want to drive the MH on that road. Rented a car this afternoon (Sunday).

Weather here has turned to fall, with daytime temps in the mid 70's and nights in the mid 30's. I close up the MH as the sun is ...

... a long windy trip round the mountains we found ourselves almost back to Carmel lol, but we found the beach road and in the process saw a lot of very unique countryside which we wouldn't normally have seen, so there was a plus side. That probably added about 2 hours to the trip, but worth it as the coast road was unbelievably beautiful, though in places the road had me a bit worried, very narrow and windy in places. Stopped ...

... of mostly men and some women all in full head to toe bmx bike gear. They were all bumping their bikes up and down and sharing bike stories whilst momo/schmidt sat on looking on. Ive never seen so many grown men psycing eachother up,banging bike chains up and down and basically thinking they looked super macho in their biking glory. On my last night in Las Vegas, I witnessed a very unusual and rare event - there were thunderstorms all night, accompanied by alot of rain. This provided a colourful sunrise over a sky embedded with dark clouds heavy with rain.
