... we'd got for a late lunch then waited until the reptile show began. Got to see the snake, crocs and lizards again. This time, as well with both getting to hold the snake, we got to hold a blue tongued skink!

The day before we went to see the Australia Zoo, the former entertainment director of the zoo came on board the ship to give us a very funny talk about the place. He'd worked there as entertainment director for 5 years. It was a very interesting look into Steve Irwin and his family, as well as the story of the zoo and its creation. Basically, Steve was ignored here until he got famous overseas, then people took notice. He plowed all his money back into the zoo (and it shows). ...
