Arrived in Port Macquarrie and checked into our motel. Quick change and out for dinner. Receptionist had recommended a couple of places so we went and checked them out. Decided to go to "The Stunned Mullet" which was fabulous. Amazing food and lovely atmosphere. Expensive, but worth it and we had a lovely bottle of Marlborough courtesy of Gary & Ulla ...

... Around Australia Championship, as Ian has won 1 state, I have won 3, with only QLD to go!!!

After the game, we had lunch at the club, and got away about 2.30pm, to head west on the Oxley Highway towards Walcha. We stopped about halfway across the range, at a free camp at Stockyard Creek Rest Area,, about 83km SE of Walcha.

... these people with houses gone and everything in it is horrifying. They have arrested two girls aged 12 and 13 for setting the fires off in the first place. We did see smoke in the distance and at one time we encountered yellow smoke over on the other side of the carriageway with a fire engine in attendance and all the traffic stopped. We were OK though. ... along Mat looks over and then slows down, turns the radio down, pulls over OMG! "What's the noise?" We both looked at each other thought the car was f****ed �� but no it was the bloody forest bugs or something!!!!! Scary!!!! 4 hours and we could see the sea!!!!! We met Marc and Sarah had a little refreshment then an afternoon on the beach, it was lovely. Mat had a swim, I dipped my toes. Boat trip in the evening, saw dolphins ...
