The main reason why we wanted to be in Chiang Mai by Sunday night was to be able to apply for our Chinese visa. Unfortunately we found out (too late) that the Consulate of China was closed on the 2nd of June due to the Chinese public holiday.

... for bed! We were woke up by the sound of a rooster at 530 am and it kept squawking for hours!! So we had breakfast and head out for our day of trekking!
