Bankside is located a couple of blocks from Queens Street shopping and Britomart. The room was clean and the kitchen had the necessary supplies except a frying pan.
All rooms have a small balcony. We were on the 4th floor and had a view of the neighboring businesses. No complaints. I didn't request a great view. Manager was cordial and willing to help.

Alas, tonight we are flying home. Today we walked to the sky tower and checked out the views from the top. There were people bungy jumping (see pic). Only in NZ!

After, we walked down Queen Street, a cool shopping area, to the Ferry Building and wharf. The whole area is bustling with people, shopping, sightseeing and sipping coffee at the …

Today we returned the campervan and flew from Christchurch to Auckland. I have to say, I was sad to turn in the van. I may not want to sleep in it all the time but it sure was fun.

Tonite is our last night in New Zealand. The time flew by. We still have plans for tomorrow. Our flight
doesn't leave till 11 pm so we're going to visit the …

... just beautiful landscape the whole way! We got there and it was an evening thing. All these people of Maori descent wer dressed in their tradition clothes with lots of Maori tattoos on their faces & bodies. We got a bus out to the village and we wer greeted by their welcoming ceremony, with lots of tribal dances and shouting of weird noises it was all quiet daunting but good to see. Once in the village we wer taken to all the wee different ...

... buckets (maybe 4). We started the day at 8:30 and we finished it at 7:30, very long hard day. So Tuesday: Bad! Wednesday we were supposed to work 3 or 4 hours but at the end we worked all day: Bad! The rest of the week was not too bad at the moment that I arrived to buy some groceries and my credit card was not working. I called my mum to understand what is going on and she called me back and told me that my credit card ...

... fairly empty (though Nat claims it’s the busiest she’s seen it for a while!) and the Tasman Sea is crashing heavily onto the sand and huge rock formations – not enough to stop a few hardy souls from attempting to swim in it though! We explore a few little caves and tunnels, watching as the sea encroaches through them, then climb another dune over to O’Neills Beach – which is more of the same, with huge weathered rock ...
