Bankside is located a couple of blocks from Queens Street shopping and Britomart. The room was clean and the kitchen had the necessary supplies except a frying pan.
All rooms have a small balcony. We were on the 4th floor and had a view of the neighboring businesses. No complaints. I didn't request a great view. Manager was cordial and willing to help.

We were rudely awoken at 7am by a cacophony of alarms that went off in unison. This is it. Breakfast and then Alex drove us to the train station to meet the airport shuttle bus.

Avoided colliding with log trucks and back on to the "main roads" to Wiatomo stopping at some quaint towns on route. They all look like what I imagine Fivemiletown would have ...
... today was different. They say there’s a first time for everything, and I guess there really is…we were LITERALLY the first people to arrive at the airport. And I’m not talking about paying customers trying to get on a flight. I’m talking about any personnel whatsoever. There was no one at any counter, all the cafes were closed, all the shops still had the metal doors down, no one was walking around on the tarmac getting ...
... when I tell him there are electric bikes available for hire too. His reply is along the lines of "its time to give it away when you have to have an electric bike". Most of the group then catch the bus to Oneroa, where I stop for a coffee and a walk on the beach and then back on the bus to Palm Beach. Its a magnificent spot and the water is clear and warm (by New Zealand standards). I have a swim around a little rocky headland to what appears to ...
