Bankside is located a couple of blocks from Queens Street shopping and Britomart. The room was clean and the kitchen had the necessary supplies except a frying pan.
All rooms have a small balcony. We were on the 4th floor and had a view of the neighboring businesses. No complaints. I didn't request a great view. Manager was cordial and willing to help.

Alas, tonight we are flying home. Today we walked to the sky tower and checked out the views from the top. There were people bungy jumping (see pic). Only in NZ!

After, we walked down Queen Street, a cool shopping area, to the Ferry Building and wharf. The whole area is bustling with people, shopping, sightseeing and sipping coffee at the …

Today we returned the campervan and flew from Christchurch to Auckland. I have to say, I was sad to turn in the van. I may not want to sleep in it all the time but it sure was fun.

Tonite is our last night in New Zealand. The time flew by. We still have plans for tomorrow. Our flight
doesn't leave till 11 pm so we're going to visit the …

... darker which was when the glow worms started to appear. Glow Roma are basically an insect larvae which light up to attract other insects to eat. We took a boat ride down the river running through the cave where there were literally thousands of these little creatures lighting up the ceiling of the cave. It was a pretty magical experience. We spent the rest of our day doing the Waitomo walkway which was a 2 hour walk around the stunning local countryside.

... the country?' Karen, who had previously answered no to that exact same question on the form chimes in 'We've got half a prawn sandwich and half a beef one that we bought at Sydney airport'. He immediately changes our answer on the card with a big black cross and writes SANDWICH in block capitals across it. 'Lane one please' he says grimly. Karen attempts to remonstrate 'We can chuck it if you like? It's no problem', 'Lane one' he repeats and emphasises the ...
