Bankside is located a couple of blocks from Queens Street shopping and Britomart. The room was clean and the kitchen had the necessary supplies except a frying pan.
All rooms have a small balcony. We were on the 4th floor and had a view of the neighboring businesses. No complaints. I didn't request a great view. Manager was cordial and willing to help.

No, not the water flowing the other way, but the stalls are much longer, unlike Canada, meaning that even though the doors swing inwards, you don't bang your knees or have to climb onto the toilet to get out. The stalls are also wider. The toilet seats are a LOT narrower, more like a toilet in Canada with the seat up, can't be more than 2 or 3 inches wide. Strange the things you ...

... past the hotel I preferred to take a taxi as I thought time alone was much needed. If you have come to Auckland with a school group I recommend catching a bus from the Airport to the Hotel as it will be a cheap and easy option. Some Hotels even offer free transport from the Airport depending on their distance, so when you are booking for a hotel it is best to read everything it has to offer.

... for internet connectivity in a campervan) a cookie before heading back to the hostel to finally plan and book stuff.

The next few hours were not quite as fun, constantly scrolling the internet for the best campervan deals and comparing different vehicles on different sites. Eventually we put a deposit down on a Base Jumper 2 from Wilderness as the price seemed OK, a bit more than some others but it was the only one to be made for winter use with insulation and ...
