Day 25 - Saturday 25th August Our flight to Orlando left at 9am, and only took just over an hour (so much better than getting a 10-hour coach!) We couldn't check in until 3pm so we walked along International Drive and looked in the shops, got some lunch and played mini golf. Once we had checked in we got ready to go to Universal Studios. It was a 25 minute walk away, which was okay but tiring in this heat! Adam had never been on a roller coaster before, and I thought ...

We then went to the pre-teen area for a cool down swim. The first thing I went on was the icebergs, I had to wait in an enourmous queue just to fall off on the second iceberg! I tried to get back ...

    Great condo....but

    from bazandgay

We stayed at a superb condo town house in vista cay from 28th july till 11th aug The house was fabulous booked through VRBO site and was exactly as stated all mod cons

The but was that the site is new and not yet served by transport links and no store nearby. We were advised we did not need a car and everywhere was in walking distance but this was clearly not the case unless you were a marathon runner and happy to walk along highways as there are no sidewalks The resort was built last year and we can see that a Publix supermarket is planned for the lot next to the resort and they are hopeful of getting a bus link to I Drive soon when those things are sorted this will be a top class place to stay but at present you NEED a car to get around or like us you will end up adding alot of money for taxi fares $30 to universal, wet and wild and 50 to disney even 25 to the nearest shop so beware its a wonderful place great clubhouse beautiful apartments but HIRE A CAR

    Absolutely Loved Vista Cay :-)

We booked this resort through VRBO.com and florida sun vacation and were very satisfied. We stayed in a 2nd floor 2 bedroom condo near the community clubhouse. The moment we walked in, we fell at ease. The condo was extremely clean, flat screen TV's in both bedrooms and living room and no problems with parking. The only downfall was because Vista Cay is brand new, there was no shuttle service to Univeral or Seaworld. However, We had a rental car and it was only about a 5 minute drive to Seaworld , a 8 minute to Universal and I-drive and Wet N Wild were about 2 minutes away.

Wow.. What a wonderful place to stay. We visited from 23/6/07 - 8/7/07. Very luxurious, beautiful kitchen with large fridge, cooker, dishwasher and microwave. This kitchen had everything, also coffee perculator, mixer, in fact everything you would have at home. This was a 3 bedroom condo. The master ensuite is on one side of the family room and the other two bedrooms and shared bathroom on the other. This provided everyone with plenty of space and privacy. Location was great. Just past Conference Centre on Universal Boulavard. We had a car, but when we used a taxi it was $11 to citywalk and $7 to Pointe Orlando. Would highly recommend it.

No shops onsite, but plans for some, a bar and restaurant at the front of clubhouse.

Clubhouse had reception, with very helpful staff, this had a games room, gym, free internet cafe, basketball court, childrens pool and separate large pool with spa.

Much effort was made by all staff on the 4th July.. the weather was terrible.. rained most of the day, but, had bbq, games, DJ, and lots of fun.

Excellant please try. You wont be disappointed.

We just returned from a weeklong stay at Vista Cay Resorts.

What a great choice for my family consisting of 4 children (3 boys ages 14,13,10 and daughter 11) So as you can imagine, we couldn't stay in a small hotel room so we opted for the resort setting the Bayshore 3bed/3bath townhome). Property well maintained. We drove to Florida and was able to get an early check-in which was appreciated after a 15 hour drive. Pool and theater/game room is walking distance from your unit so anywhere you stay on the property is a good one. Property photos on the website are accurate. The unit was decorated beautifully with everything you need to make your stay comfortable including DVD,playstation to entertain the kids and pots&pans if you want to cook during your stay plus, a blender if you want to whip some drinks, washer&dryer if you want to have clean clothes for when you return home. Property is close to Theme Parks/Restaurants/Shopping. Overall, I would say this resort was affordable and a home away from home...other than the beds not comfortable just plan to bring a cushion. We are looking forward to our next visit and plan to bring some bed cushions.

    Excellent value

My husband, daughter, and I stayed in a two bedroom first floor condo June 13 -19. The condo was very spacious and was nicely decorated. The condos are individually owned, so I would check out the decor on the internet before renting. Our condo had a balcony that overlooked the lake. We had a short walk on a very nicely landscaped walkway to the pool area. The pool was rather small for the number of units, but was not crowded. There was also a hot tub and kiddie pool. The pool area could use some umbrellas because there is absolutely no shady areas in the afternoon.

We go to Orlando very often and have stayed in many nice resorts. This was one of the nicest for the price we payed. The timeshare rentals may have nicer pool areas and activities, but it is not worth paying the price difference, especially if you plan on doing the parks. Vista Cay is very close to Sea World (we could watch the fireworks from our balcony every night) and is a short drive to the Disney parks. You will need a rental car if you stay here because there is nothing within walking distance, but very many restaurants and Publix a short drive away. Vista Cay is in a new, clean area just a very short drive from the airport. The buildings are colorful and have plenty of parking. We will definitely be staying here again.

    Best Vacation EVER!!!!!

What an unbelievable deal for the money. It was the first time our family had done a condo rental---wow!!! Vista Cay has really set the bar pretty high with all of the lavish amenities. It will be a challenge to stay a hotel again after this experience.

Everything one could possible need was there in the kitchen. Vista Cay was a wonderful delight and made the day complete after returtning from a day at the various attractions. Again, great stay and couldn't imagine staying elsewhere upon our return to Orlando.

    Fantastic place!

My family stayed at Vista Cay from 24 May through to 7 June 2007.

It was perfect for us - myself, husband, 2 daughters (14 & 11) and my father-in-law.

We'd stayed on campus as Disney on previous occasions but this was a great location. Not busy or noisy, but just a couple of minutes drive to good restaurants.

The parks are 15 minutes to Disney, 10 minutes to Universal and less than 5 minutes to Sea World.

We stayed in a 3-bed town house, with 3 en-suite bathrooms. The kitchen had every amenity you could possibly need. My husband and kids were very impressed by the huge TV!! The standard of accommodation was second to none, with loads of bedding and towels for the duration of the stay. Plus there is laundry facilities within the house.

The public amenities are excellent, internet, mini-cinema, games room and great pool and spa. All very high quality and very clean.

    We've already recommended to friends.

Vista Cay Resort, Orlando, Florida - Wonderful!

    from tsparrow

Vista Cay Resort is a new development of vacation rentals near the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. I went down and stayed in one of the 3-story townhomes for the week with some friends.

It was really comfortable. Just like being at home....but better! The home was furnished with a full kitchen and living and dining rooms. And all the plates, utensils, and appliances are provided so we cooked a cozy dinner right at the house.

There are townhomes and condos at this resort. And there was a brand new pool with a clubhouse. The clubhouse had a workout room, internet room, and a theatre that we reserved one night to watch a movie on the "big screen".

It was convenient to all the parks like Disney, Universal, and Sea World. It's actually practically right across the street from Sea World. And it's right off of International Drive - full of restaurants and shopping. You've got to check out the "Pointe" right down the road - wonderful restaurants.

I booked my vacation rental at Vista Cay at [--]. I paid under $200 a night. Which was wonderful considering that I got 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, kitchen, dining, and living room. You can't beat it for the price. Oh, I forgot to mention it even had a garage.

Overall, this is one of the best vacation home resorts I've stayed in. Check it out.... [--]

You must stay at Vista Cay rather than overpriced hotels nearby

    from MJK from Atlanta

4 of us stayed in 'Be Our Guest 1', unit 100 at Vista Cay, this week while attending a trade show at the Orange County Convention Center. Vista Cay is just about 1/2 mile east of the Convention center, much closer than most of the hotels in the area that advertise that they are within walking distance.

This unit was PERFECT for 4 business people. The bedrooms where spacious, the furniture was great, it was impeccably clean, the unit seemed new and there are some units still in construction on the other side of the property, which are not close to the completed section.

Vista Cay is probably less than a mile from Sea World, about 3 miles or so from Universal Studios, and Wet N Wild. It is on Universal Blvd, which runs parallel to International Blvd. We rented a car and were less than a 5 minute drive from the Capital Grille, Maggiano, and the other nice restaurants on International. Because we were there on business I didn't do much of the tourist thing, but if I'd wanted to this is the place I would stay.

Here is the info on the unit:
