After the market we headed north up the coast where we found several closed campgrounds near the hill town of Scarlino. We left Pisa in route to Volterra. We had decided the day before to go here, and I am so glad we did. First, it's not easy to get to Volterra, so if you don't have a car, it will be time consuming and difficult to use the public transport.
