    After a quick final yoghurt fruit and honey for breakky, we headed to Parikia to board a fast ferry to Rafina (mainland Greece).




    The Sea Jet - funnily enough, this ship was built in FREMANTLE!

    ... scurrying into the safety of shop doorways. The laneways wind and zig zag and are seldom straight. We are told the theory behind this was to confuse and deter the Pirates. There are shops selling everything - clothes and jewellery being the predominant items, but plenty of cafes. All the buildings are white and i can't help wondering what the colour charts look like in the local paint and hardware stores. Window trims seem to be the only choice available ...

    ... 5euro admission, so I sat out. Pretty cool place even from the outside though. It was where the first modern Olympic Games were held. When the first games were done- it was only track and field so it was a basic track made al in marble. 107 steps to the top, and it holds 60,000 people. We grabbed food for dinner and made chickpea tomato ...

    ... was very full by the end. I then went for a walk, walked down to
    the port area and went to this place called coffee and cream. Here i had a coffee and some dessert, then went for a walk back to st Georges beach, took a seat at one of the beach side bars and had a drink here, i then walked along to another bar and had a different drink. After that i walked back to the hostel, read for a bit and then went to bed.

    Fast ferry (prefer slow but no choice) from Folegandros to Naxos, the last of the Greek islands visited. Picked up by accommodation hosts and driven immediately out of larger port based town five kms to small beachside village where we stay for three nights. So peaceful, almost farmstay, for next to nothing rent and a very quick walk to a golden sandy (as opposed to pebbly) beach that stretches more than 10 ...
