    Layover in Charlotte

A travel blog entry by jmrussell on Jun 07, 2015

Mary was just a bit concerned that we wouldn't make it through customs after setting for 30 minutes on the taxiway waiting for our gate to be ready, but we made to our connection with time to spare. In fact after boarding we had another 30 minute delay for an attitude display ...

    Charlotte

Just landed. Decent flight. Now at my gate for the second leg of the journey. Charlotte is a lot busier than Harrisburg. LOL. The chance to see new things, to experience cultures, and yes, even shy introvert like myself can confess that meeting people was just as addictive as the rest. And when I was handed the opportunity to go to Europe to intern in a museum, I couldn't say no. It's time to prepare once again for a great adventure, and I cannot wait to get ...

... original hangar is still in use for storage. The museum entry fee is a little on the steep side, given the size of the collection on display, but it is quite interesting. The centerpiece display is the USAir plane that was flight 1549 out of La Guardia, bound for Charlotte, in 2009, and ended up in the Hudson River when it flew through a flock of Canada Geese, and subsequently became known as “The Miracle on the Hudson.” ...
