... chicken looks amazing and there loads of it. It does appear however they've taken a large axe to a chicken, and then thrown various disembodies bits into the deep fryer. All the same it's gorgeous. Conversely the chips are rubbish so I'm glad I didnt know they were turning up and I'd ordered rice. Had I been looking forward to them I'd have been disappointed. The Adobo thing is also lovely. Back across the road for more beer and wifi's. Tomorrow we need to book a hotel Another long day ...

... but was left with no option other than a Jeepney. I was completely excited and jumped at the chance to ride on one of the most symbolic of symbols of The Philippines. They are contraptions made from US Military Jeeps leftover from World War II. They seem to come in all different lengths and conditions. They all are named with either a familiar slogan or Spanish name.

The only thing I can think of that comes close to a Jeepney is ...

Manila Day #2

... is yet another dinner presentation one is unlikely to ever see in America, but is quite typical for Asia (and also the Caribbean and other tropical locations). It was a bit of work to extract all the edible fish from the bones, head, and tail – but fortunately it was worth the effort as the entree was deliciously prepared. And there was quite a lot of fish to extract, making for a very filling and satisfying meal. My bill was 586 pesos ($13.70) including tax and tip.
