Historical Traveler Reviews Vacation Village at Parkway Kissimmee
Excellent Service and Accomodations
I bid on a dirt cheap vacation thru skyauction and had the pleasure of staying at Vacation Village at Parkway, Kissimmee Dec 5-12. My mother-in-law and I took wonderful whirlpool baths and we couldn't believe the accomodations-SPOTLESS. Full Kitchen- Beautiful Condo. King Size Bed Comfortable. Quiet. We had a slight problem with the safe and they sent someone over immediately. We used the Bar-B-Que with $20 deposit for utensils. Immaculate!!!! We were going to go on a casino cruise and changed our minds and then were refunded our money for it! I escaped the timeshare speal because my husband was not along. I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.
Vacation Village Fans
We stayed at Vacation Village at Parkway during February of 2002. We were at Disney every day but is was nice to come back to a clean quiet, nicely decorated condo. The kids were thrilled to have there own attached unit and it was great to have the two bathrooms and two washing machines and dryers. We had breakfast there every morning which saved time and expense. We never heard anybody else there and although they were supposedly working on the roof and the elevators, we didn't here the noise. Although we didn't use the pools and outdoor spa, we did notice a sign saying they were shut down due to bacteria content.
Better than allowing people to use them anyway! The units are clean, spacious, have all the conveniences and extras, (such as a big screen T.V. in the living room.) We are considering purchasing a unit in the future.
The Worst Vacation I've ever had
I was swindled into touring vacation village through ramada resorts and it is the most regrettable trip I have ever been on. The sales rep that tried to push my wife and I into buying something was the most beligerrant and rude person you could ever meet. It ruined our entire vacation to the point that we were so upset we didn't even take the cruise that we had already paid for. What a Ripoff
Customer service severely lacking...
I arrived at Vacation Village on Saturday evening and the people at the front desk looked a little tired or maybe bored. Throughout my stay, they appeared to have extra people sitting behind the front desk looking a little lost, looking around doing nothing. Upon arrival, I was offered the use of a safe for $10 during my stay, which I accepted.
The code they gave me to activate the safe never worked, and I asked the front desk for a refund a couple of times as I went to dinner. I was told to come back when management was around during business hours, which I did finally on Thursday. I was told I should've contacted them sooner and that they wouldn't be able to refund the $10 fee for the safe. I told them it was an electronic safe and surely they could see if I'd used it or not, they said they couldn't, and they weren't of the refunding "mindset." I broke the one ashtray they provided on Tuesday and repeatedly requested a replacement, which never arrived.
Maintenance people knocked on my door to check things three or four times during my stay, during all hours. The room was at the absolute end of the hallway and there is only one entrance to each building of units. There was a very handy exit right next to my unit, that I wished would allow re-entry with a key card. The bed was pretty uncomfortable and the mattress slid around all over the box spring. Finally, I was told my garbage would be taken out and my linens replaced on Wednesday.
That never happened. To be fair, the accommodations (the kitchen/bathroom/living space) were spacious and modern, the furniture was adequately comfortable, and the location of the resort is top notch (within 5 miles of every entertainment park). But the service left a great deal to be desired, to say the very least. I returned from my vacation feeling as if no one at Vacation Village cared how I'd felt while I was there and rooked out of a $10 safe fee.
Tte check-in was ok.....The lady triedto get us to buy the tehme tickets from them but we chose not to. The room was really nice, the ammenities wre good. The room was reaaly clean and spacious. The timeshare group were really pushy. We went through their orientation and it was very informative and I liked what they had to offer but the timing VS. my finances at the time where not good. I told them I was not interested at the moment and to me they took offense to it. which I really did not appreciate, no means no! But the resort itself was good!
The one thing I did not appreciate was late on one evening they came to check an air filter for the air -conditioning, I feel that could have been done during the day and or left a note to confer on a time.
Hated the trip-checked out 2 days early
checked in on friday night 8-22-03 and there was a storm and it finally stopped at 9:40pm and when we went down to the Hot tub, because of my sore back (2 previous back operations, and my wives very bad hip from a wreck,) we found it locked and when we called up to the desk, they said they were not going to reopen it because they were expecting another storm, and i told them tv said it was over and the pool and hot tubs are suppose to be open until 11:00pm and the man said he was told there was another storm coming and i told him the TV said it waS OPENED BUT THAT DID NOT SWAY HIM.i THEN ASKED IF THERE WAS ANOTHER HOT TUB SOMEWHERE BECAUSE WE WERE BOTH IN PAIN FROM TRAVELING THAT DAY TO GET THERE BUT HE SAID NO.The next day we were in pain all day and could not use the 4 day passaes we had to disney parks and it rained off and on all day and agaih at 9:30 pm it had stoipped and there was no lightning anymore and I went down and found the pool and hot tub locked up again, and trhe same guy answered the phone and told me the same story about not unlocking the area again because of the storms.I then got upset and explained to him that wew were in pain and unable to do anything all day because of the closing yesterday.but again he stated No I can't take a chance of anyone getting hurt from Lightning, even though there was none in the area, because the storm had already passed. Sunday morning we were really sore a nd stayed in our room again until 2pm and then when we went to the hot tub a man told me how they had opened the hot tub at9:45pm because of complaints from the people, but nobody never let me know and my legs were so knotted up and my back had hurt so much we didn't go anywhere, including Disney and ordered Pizza delivered becaus e we were hurting so much. Finally we were feeling better by Tuesday'Having stayed in the room every day and using the pool and hot tub a couple times a day,and we were ready to go on the Night cruise we had paid for .and went out to the first entrance and waited 30 minutes in the heat for the bus,but when he arrived he pulled up further then where we were standing and then started taking peoples tickets for the cruise out of Cape Canaveral, and then said,I cant take anybody else,I will call for another bus and it will be here in 30 minutes, and we then walked back to our room as about 15 other people did,and when we called to complain, she said she was flooded with complaints to call back later. We vchecked out the next morning 2 days earlier than we were suppose to.This was the final straw. We still have $422.00 worth of tickets to the Disney world because we didnt even get to go there.
My husband and I went to Vacation Village at Parkway and was very impressed with the Timeshare and the service provided by the staff. We purchased the Timeshare because it was brand new, and is in a perfect location (within an hour or so)to see all of the best of Florida. We are pleased with our experience and are looking forward to returning very soon.
Enjoy our stay
We really enjoyed our stay at Vacation Village. The check-in staff were very fast and orderly to get us to our room one of the best services I have experienced at any resort. The room was clean and everything in perfect order. "More ammenities than expected". The entire facility was just breath taking. The location could have not been better. It is close to all the local attractions and me and my family loved it not have to drive a long distance. I would reccomend Vacation Village to any one.
Wonderful in Vacation Village
My wife and I spent one week at the Vacation Village at Parkway in Kissimmee, Florida last year. We had a wonderful time and felt that the Vacaiton Village was the very best place we had ever stayed. We were on a top floor all the way at the end of building 4 . This made for a long walk to the elevators but that was fine with us since we like to get in our walking exercises. The staff were friendly and the service was very good. The room was 5-Star all the way. The time share folks were very pushy and "incredulous" when we told them we wern't interested in buying.. however, we stood firm and didn't buy the time share. However, if I was going to buy a timeshare, I would very seriously consider the Vacation Village at Parkway. It has a great location in Kissimmee near Disney. Universal is just a 1/2 hour drive north and the Atlantic coast including NASA is only an hour to the east. We will be looking for a way to spend more time at this wonderful resort in the future.
Grumpy at Vacation Village
I was really excited about going to the Vacation Village Resort, and even cancelled reservations at a neighbouring resort. BAD MOVE! Vacation Village Resort at Parkway started with bad service upon check-in, I even think the lady intentionally gave us a bad room when I asked if we could upgrade (by the entrance, on the ground floor with a big transmitter box buzzing outside of our patio - which we couldn't see out of due to the growth of plants). I think the worst part of this resort is the pool location - it is located in the centre of all 5 of their tall buildings. Sine the buildings are tall, this means sun is only available between 11 am - 3pm-ish, and then you see a mass of individuals playing musical chairs chasing the sun around the pool. That was the most frustrating! When we called them, they told us there were 5 pools. I counted 2, I think they count the pools in the resort next door ... (?)We bumped into a gentleman who was telling me his wife was near tears from the Timeshare Salesman not accepting NO for an answer ... they are big on trying to sell you timeshare into this place!I can't even say the restaurant was good, since I didn't even see one at this resort (unless, again they count the neighbouring resort). POSITIVE: they are centrally located, so it allowed us to make trips to Cocoa Beach and Clearwater Beach to catch some sun. After speaking to the manager, she moved us up to the 5th floor without charge (supposed to be a $35 fee), since I was so disgruntled - and the manager looked into the computer system and asked "Didn't I ask for the Ground Floor?" - which goes back to my poor check-in experience!

... parking lot with their owners just getting ready to leave. We stopped one of the drivers and were told that today was Stake Conference and that they were all done and gone for the day. An older gentleman then handed Ted a paper with a few jokes on it and told a few at the window. A strange encounter but the kids found it fun. "What did the peanut say to the police officer? Arrest that man! I was just a-salted!" We were disappointed as we had hoped that we could let ...

Anyway, first official stomach turning stop was the Dragon Challenge. Oi vey! I shall rename it the stomach challenge. Upside down, swinging sideways, loop de loops, oh my it was a stomach turner and head spinner. After each ride comes to a halt they want you up and out quick ...

Gus and I are travelling north to savannah over the next few days, and will return back to orlando for a day before flying to new Orleans.
from the space centre we started the move north to savannah and are staying in Daytona at the moment, which will be explained in the Daytona section.
... hotel for theirs but Jake and I couldn't got there due to Jakes nut allergy so after a nap we rang for a Dominos pizza to be delivered to our room. Jake had a hawaiian pizza and I had a BBQ chicken pizza, both pizzas were nice they just needed some ketchup and they would have been perfect! We both wrote each others valentines cards tonight whilst the other was in the bathroom before we headed to bed ready for a big day out tomorrow at Disneyland park in Florida...ahhh so exciteeeeeeed ...
... we were "greeted" by a somewhat loud and boisterous Hawaiian entertainer. She invited the dining children to learn Hawaiian customs and phrases, which was an effort in futility much like herding cats. While we were being entertained we began to wonder when we would begin our dining experience. Careful what you wish for... First came the Hawaiian greeting bread. Had we known of the plethora of meats that awaited us we probably would have ...
